CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES
What is it
Chamber Music In the City is a free concert series dedicated to broadening the definition of the concert hall into intimate New York City venues such as rooftops, lounges, and other non-traditional concert spaces. Launched in the summer of 2016, Chamber Music In the City’s inaugural season is dedicated to bringing twenty free concerts to the public. ICOA invites world-class artists from the orchestral and chamber spheres, including the London Philharmonic, Berliner Philharmoniker, Emerson String Quartet, Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center, among others.
We carefully select venues that offers a fresh and relaxing setting, i.e. public parks and residential area within communities, where we promote conversations and deepen engagement between listeners and musicians.
We provide resources and guidance for the curious newcomers to further explore the world of classical music. With our team’s deep understanding of digital media, we tailor our content to the way that intrigues young audiences. (i.e. videos of our performances, Playlist--“ICOA favorites”, Infographics that visualize music knowledge, talk panels by artists, Q&A sessions, etc.)
We partner with various organizations and bring our music to underserved or local communities, i.e., public schools, churches and local neighborhoods.
